The Sweden Monarchy celebrates two big milestones in 2026: King Carl XVI Gustaf’s 80th Birthday & King Carl Gustaf & Queen Silvia’s 50th Wedding Anniversary.
To mark the events, the palace has released three portraits.
King Carl Gustaf – Solo

King Carl Gustaf is wears the admiral’s uniform with various Swedish honors: Order of Seraphim (Sash and Star), Order of the Sword (Neck badge), Order of Vasa (Star)
The King is also wearing the following medals:
- King Gustaf V’s Jubilee Commemorative Badge II on the occasion of his 90th birthday (1948)
- King Gustaf VI Adolf’s Commemorative Medal on the occasion of his 85th birthday (1967)
- King Haakon VII’s 100th Anniversary Commemorative Medal (1972)
- Norwegian Honor
- King Olav V’s Jubilee Medal on the occasion of 25 years as monarch (1982)
- Norwegian Honor
- King Harald V’s Jubilee Medal on the occasion of 25 years as monarch (2016)
- Norwegian Honor
Queen Silvia – Solo
Queen Silvia is wearing the Order of the Seraphim (sash and Badge), and the Portrait Order of King Carl Gustaf. She is also wearing the “Braganca diamond tiara” (sometimes called the “Brazilian Tiara”).
