The 2025 Nobel Laureates were announced October 6th-15th.

Physiology or Medicine

Announced on Monday, October 6th

Awarded to Mary E. Brunkow (USA) (1/3), Fred Ramsdell (USA) (1/3) and Shimon Sakaguchi (Japan)(1/3)  for their discoveries concerning peripheral immune tolerance”

The Prize is awarded by the Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institute.


Physics

Announced on Tuesday, October 7th

Awarded to  John Clarke (1/3), Michel H. Devoret (1/3) and John M. Martinis (1/3) “for the discovery of macroscopic quantum mechanical tunnelling and energy quantisation in an electric circuit.”

The Prize is awarded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.


Chemistry

Announced on Wednesday, October 8th

Awarded to Susumu Kitagawa (Japan) (1/3), Richard Robson (UK) (1/3) and Omar M. Yaghi (Jordan) (1/3)  for the development of metal–organic frameworks”

The Prize is awarded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.


Literature  

Announced on Thursday, October 9th. 

Awarded to László Krasznahorkai (Hungry)  for his compelling and visionary oeuvre that, in the midst of apocalyptic terror, reaffirms the power of art.”

The Prize is awarded by the Swedish Academy.


Peace

Announced on Friday, October 10th 

Awarded to Maria Corina Machado  for her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.

The Prize is awarded by the Norwegian Nobel Committee.


Economic Sciences

Announced on Monday, October 13th

Awarded to Joel Mokyr (1/2) “for having identified the prerequisites for sustained growth through technological progress”and Philippe Aghion (1/4) & Peter Howitt (1/4) “ for the theory of sustained growth through creative destruction.”

The Prize is awarded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
