At the beginning of each year, King Philippe & Queen Mathilde host about 3-4 New Year’s receptions. Each reception is held for a specific group. The receptions take place in January and early February.
The receptions are usually held on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Historically, most of the receptions take place at the Royal Palace of Brussels. However, due to renovations at the Royal Palace, the receptions have been held at the Castle of Laeken in recent years.

- Brussels-based European institutions and the permanent representatives accredited to the EU
Attending
- King Philippe & Queen Mathilde.
- Sometimes Princess Astrid & Prince Lorenz.
