King Willem-Alexander of Netherlands – Christmas Speech (2013-Present)

King Willem-Alexander gives a pre-recorded speech every Christmas. The speech airs on Christmas Day, December 25, at 1 PM (GMT+1). The speech is produced by Netherland’s Public Broadcaster NPO and airs at 1 PM on NOP 1, NPO 2 (with Sign Language interpreter), and NPO Radio 1. It will be available on the Monarch’s youtube shortly after airing.

The Speech is usually pre-recorded at the Monarch’s home. King Willem-Alexander lived at Villa Eikenhorst from the beginning of his reign until when he moved into Huis ten Bosch Palace into January 2019. The King’s 2018 speech was recorded at Noordeinde Palace, where he had his office, as the family prepared for the move.
