Order of the Dannebrog – Current Royals in Order

The Order of Dannebrog is one of Denmark’s two orders of chivalry. The Order of Dannebrog not often given to royals, preferring to give the higher honor, the Order of Elephant. Below is a list of the current royals and family members who hold this honor.


Grand Commander / Storkommandør (S.Kmd.)

Grand Commander is the highest rank of the Order of Dannebrog. The honor is given to senior members of the Denmark Royal Family and the two Nordic Monarchs (Norway & Sweden). There can be a maximum of 8 Grand Commanders at a time (Monarch + 7).
