Princess Kate*’s Patronage
The first official painted portrait Princess Kate* was unveiled at the National Portrait Gallery in 2012. The painting was commissioned by Sir Hugh Leggatt, an art dealer who works for the royal family.
Princess Kate* launched the Hold Still campaign with the gallery in 2020. The community project created a “unique collective portrait of the UK” during the first COVID-19 lockdown.
Three portraits of Princess Kate* were commissioned for the collection in 2022 to mark Princess Kate*’s 40th Birthday. The photos were taken by Paolo Roversi. (1, 2, 3)
