King Olav V of Norway’s New Years Eve Speeches (1957-1990)

King Olav began a tradition of giving a New Years Address in 1934, during the reign of his father. (Olav’s speeches as Crown Prince are listed under his father’s reign. )

He continued this tradition gave an annual New Years’ Speech. The Speeches were originally given over the Radio, and then also broadcast via television after 1971.
